We finally received our computers several weeks ago.  The students have entered their first writing assignment, an original Cinderella story, and they are now learning how to revise their work.  It has been a bit difficult to get the assignment completed as we haven't had much computer time in the past week...NAEP testing, field trips, and substitutes have made the computers available for a limited amount of time.

We are still negotiating some of the technological problems, such as internet access, freezing computers, etc.  It is exciting to observe the students as they learn to troubleshoot problems on their own.  The most exciting thing to watch is the enthusiasm and on-task behavior when the students are working.

I am sure this project will truly be an enriching experience for the students and me, as well.

I thought I would share this in case someone else had the same problem. I had two units on the cart that weren't charging. Following their individual cables back from the unit, I found that they had shaken loose from the converter up the cable. Plugging the cable back in solved the problem. I can see how the vibration of the road cold have easily shaken these loose, so If any of your unit's charging lights aren't lit, check this first.
