I saw this on Teacher Tube and thought I would share it.  It was a great video on why kids should blog.  This is also my first attempt on embedding a video :) It was made by Rachel Boyd.http://www.teachertube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=be6ec9b852b0a542e2f3

I found this today and I think it would a great activity for use with the student laptops.  It seems perfect for the erosion unit in the new science texts.

I am not sure if it is just because what we are doing right now in the classroom but my classroom has really transformed into an independent study room when I am not doing directed instruction.  At any time of day students are working on My Access, doing research for Toastmasters, or doing web hunts or web quests.  Students are walking around sharing sites and information and no one has asked to play a game in many days.  I am very proud of them and really see learning going on above and beyond 4th grade standards.  It has really been amazing to watch.
