I used a fraction lesson from Spang Gang to introduce the unit on Fractions.  Students were engaged and able to manipulate and make factions  and explore equivalent fractions.  Every morning my class is allowed 15 minutes to explore the various activities on Spang Gang and throughout the day when their work is complete.
